Born to Run.

After listening to this talk, I feel better about needing to run with people.  I tend to feel guilty when I go for a run by myself and it doesn’t go very well.  I immediately chastise myself for not having enough mental perseverance, focus, or self determination.  In this talk, Christopher McDougall claims that we as early humans ran together in packs.  We had to for survival.  In order for me to continue to run, I need to run with my pack–for survival.

Such a great video. I love how the story of the New York marathoner at the beginning…”two outliers in one organism”…”more compassionate and more competitive.” Still not sure I can make the switch to five finger shoes! 🙂
